The SMAC club may seem like the NKOTB (New Kids On The Block), but let me assure you that they are not. This club has existed for 17 years here in Northeast, Ohio.  With close to one hundred teams, it has grown to be one of the most successful programs in the United States.  They boast classes of 2014 and 2015 commitments with schools such as Michigan, Bowling Green, Miami of Ohio, Niagara University, Ohio University, Wright State, Cleveland State, Maryland, Indiana University, University of Pittsburg and University of Akron.

The Program:

SMAC has a number of prospects that are gaining attention from college coaches from around the nation. Highlighting our 2016 class is University of Memphis commit Alyssa Dean. An explosive combo guard with superb ball handling skills, combined with length and athleticism it is easy to see why college coaches were drawn to her. Another rising 2016 recruit is Hannah Clark. A resident of Holmes County, Hannah has shot up the charts in many coaches’ eyes because of her stellar play this past summer. With multiple offers from Division One schools, her progression has been a thing of beauty.  A point guard from Revere High School who has phenomenal floor vision, exceptional leadership skills and who scores the ball from anywhere, is what makes Camryn Brown a highly sought after prospect. The 2017 class has no shortage of talent when you consider the following players such as Gabby White, Maddie Blyer and Dee Bekelja. All three players have garnered Division One attention and are expected to make several unofficial visits in the coming months.

The Future:

The Future of the program looks extremely bright with the likes of Naz Hillmon- 6’1 forward from Gilmore Academy, Amari Davidson - 6’2 forward from Avon, and from Strongsville Lindsay Thall - 6'1 Forward. These three combine to be the froncourt of the future for the 2018 class. The 2019’s are not far behind in feeding off of the recruiting frenzy the older classes have established for them. Grabbing attention early on a 6’2 forward from North Royalton Taiyier Parks has already received Big Ten offers. Taiyier’s size and athleticism has made her one of the top players in the 2019 class. Shayla Sellers, daughter to Brad Sellers who was drafted in the 1st round, 9th pick overall has passed on some of the same gifts in regards to length and versatility, along with her ability to shoot the ball. This makes her one of the most recruitable kids in that class.
